The Barkley Russell Agency, founded in October of 1995, offers counseling services in the fields of public relations and marketing. A limited amount of advertising services is also offered if part of a client's overall marketing plan. The agency services include media relations; crisis communications – training and plan development; integrated marketing plans; special events including grand openings; development and production of brochures, newsletters, and direct mail. The agency focuses on serving, economic development, arts/entertainment, non-profit, travel/hospitality and business to business clients. Since its opening the agency has represented clients in the industries ranging from hospitality, to economic development to the arts. Clients represented have included: KB Homes, GRTA, Chattahoochee Hill Country Alliance the South Fulton Chamber of Commerce; The Westin Peachtree Plaza; Tenet HealthSystems, and in partnership with Duffey Communications, Inc., Chateau Elan Winery and Resort, Atlantic Southeast Airlines and special project work for Atlanta Medical Center & Shen Yun Performing Arts. Current clients are Hardin Construction Company, LLC, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and Gas South Broadway Series. In addition to her agency, she is also a partner in Argonne Parades, a full service parade production company specializing in televised parades in both the United States and Internationally. Local parades include the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Christmas Parade.
Owner Barkley Russell has over 30 years of experience in the public relations field. Prior to opening her own firm she worked with The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Cohn & Wolf and the Stouffer Concourse Hotel and Duffey Communication, Inc,. She has received various awards including: the Golden Pyramid Award from the Promotional Products Association International, the Golden Peach award from the Georgia Department of Tourism, HSMAI Golden Bell Award for newsletters, and the Burson Marstellar's Value Added Award.
Russell currently serves as a member of the Fairburn City Council and is active in many civic and professional activities including Chair of the Development Authority/Downtown Development Authority of Fairburn, Former Vice-Chair of the Fulton County Arts Council, Member of the Atlanta Press Club, and the Old National Merchants Assoc. She is a native Atlantan and received a BFA degree from Wesleyan College.
